FAQs:
(1) Q: What does the button with the black/blue circular arrow do?:
A: It refreshes the starting page of your current website tab selection. If you make a website selection by mousing over a website tab, then browse multiple page links in that tab, clicking this button will refresh your original start page.
(2) Q: What does the button with the black/blue arrow pointing to the top right do?:
A: It springs out the starting page of your current website tab selection. If you make a website selection by mousing over a website tab, then browse multiple page links in that tab, clicking this button will spring out your original start page into a new browser.
(3) Q: How does the browser back button work in Vuezer?:
A: Each website tab in vuezer is an independent navigation zone. Clicking the back button will undo the browser history on a sequential basis across all website tabs/zones.
(4) Q: The vuezer searchbar submit button has a 2nd smaller button to it’s right, why is that?:
A: To multisearch, type a keyword into the searchbar then press [enter] or click the spyglass submit button. Clicking the small single letter 2nd button will execute a regular search engine search on your keyword in a new browser window. The search engine may be selected form our Options page.
(5) Q: Can I search/surf password-requiring sites in Vuezer?:
A: All password-requiring sites can be accessed within Vuezer when using the Firefox browser. However, in Internet Explorer, we've noticed some sites like YouTube can not be logged into due to Vuezer declining YouTube cookies, while other sites like Amazon present no problems. An easy solution is to use the "Spring Page" button (See Question #2) to open the website into a new browser window and continue from there (This is not an issue in our downloadable Vuezer Desktop application. Vuezer Desktop is a next-generation multisearch browser which has been developed to work alongside your primary browser in multisearch situations. We highly recommend downloading Vuezer Desktop [click here] )
(6) Q: Vuezer seems to be working great but the screen and text do not seem to be 100% right.:
A: Please check that your video card and your browser are set to display "Normal" text size and that your zoom level = 100%. Using larger or smaller text introduces visual artifacts to many websites -including Vuezer-. If you set the properties to Normal and still see problems or if you decide not to use "Normal" text, please try resizing the browser window manually (click a corner on the browser and drag). Sometimes this helps.
(7) Q: I've been using Vuezer for a while now and I love it. Once in a blue moon I've noticed that after clicking a link, the Vuezer searchbar "disappears". I can still browse the link, but the Vuezer searchbar seems to be gone. Is this normal?:
| A: Yes, although very rare, this behavior is normal. A very small number of websites cannot display properly in the Vuezer multi-menu windows system. If you click on a link to such a website, the Vuezer menu windows and searchbar will harmlessly disappear and let you continue browsing the link. You should see a “Website Breakout Alert” window appear when this happens. This Alert window can be turned off/on from our Options page. | (8) Q: Hi, I noticed that when you run a multisearch with an empty searchbar the website tabs return homepages… why is that? |
| A: When we made vuezer, we realized that certain topics were valuable primarily for searching (ie. search engines) while other sites tended to offer greater value from browsing them (ie. news sites). We wanted to give vuezer the flexibility to aid both the searching and browsing of multiple sites. As you noted, launching a search with an empty searchbar automatically returns homepages in the website tabs (as does loading/refreshing vuezer.com). This offers a great benefit to a user who makes vuezer their homepage. By making vuezer your homepage, you have the opportunity to start your session with multiple websites homepages in the vuezer tabs. ie. Kosmix + Yahoo + MSN. | (9) Q: I tried multisearching some shopping sites and found an item that I could not add to my shopping cart and then check out. Since the vuezer URL address bar always says "www.vuezer.com/", is there an easy way for me to find the item’s direct URL? |
| A: In Internet Explorer, vuezer tends to block certain 3rd party cookies (Same problem as FAQ #5), which may interfere with logging in and/or checking out on some sites. This is not a problem in FireFox. There are 2 easy ways around this Internet Explorer Issue. Try clicking the "spring out" button to open your search in a normal browser window; or right-click the middle of the page to find the page URL. In IE: Right Click à Properties. In FF, Right Click à View Page Info. (This is not an issue in our downloadable Vuezer Desktop application.
